Using iPad, Alfredo combines reading and writing code with personalized learning in his digital innovation class. He launched a social entrepreneurship program where primary, secondary and high school students create a business plan using app development as a means to solve social problems. To date his students have created over 50 apps covering a variety of topics — such as health, safety, math, and geography— and have earned awards in several regional and national programming and robotics competitions. The Apple Distinguished Educator ADE program is a relationship program focused on educational excellence and leadership.
